By registering for, attending and/or participating in this event, I acknowledge and agree that my participation is entirely voluntary and undertaken at my own risk.
I acknowledge that participation in sporting, recreational and outdoor activities may involve inherent and unforeseen risks, including, without limitation, physical injury, illness, falls, collisions, accidents, adverse weather conditions, road and traffic hazards, equipment failure, dehydration, medical emergencies, permanent disability and death.
I confirm that I am physically and medically fit to participate in the event and that I am responsible for determining whether my state of health permits my participation. Where I have any doubt concerning my fitness or medical condition, I accept responsibility for obtaining appropriate medical advice before participating.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, I hereby waive, release, indemnify and hold harmless the event organisers, sponsors, partners, officials, employees, contractors, service providers, volunteers, property owners, agents and all other persons or entities associated with the event from any claim, demand, action, loss, damage, expense, injury, illness, disability or death arising from or connected with my participation in, attendance at, or travel associated with the event.
I acknowledge that I remain responsible for my own safety, equipment and personal belongings throughout the event. The organisers accept no responsibility for any loss, theft or damage to personal property, bicycles, vehicles, clothing, electronic devices or other possessions, except to the extent that liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
I agree to comply with all event rules, safety instructions, route directions and lawful instructions issued by the organisers, officials, marshals, medical personnel or other authorised representatives.
I acknowledge that the organisers may, where reasonably necessary for safety, operational or regulatory reasons:
Failure to comply with event rules or safety instructions may result in immediate disqualification or removal from the event without entitlement to a refund.
I understand that roads or routes used during the event may not necessarily be completely closed to ordinary traffic and that I remain responsible for exercising due care and complying with applicable road traffic laws and instructions from officials and marshals.
In the event that I become injured, ill or incapacitated during the event, I authorise the organisers and their representatives to obtain or arrange such emergency medical assistance as they reasonably consider necessary.
I acknowledge that the provision of first aid or emergency assistance does not constitute an assumption of responsibility by the organisers for my medical condition or subsequent treatment.
Where medical, ambulance, hospital or related expenses are incurred on my behalf, I accept responsibility for such costs to the extent that they are not covered by the event organiser, medical aid, insurance or another responsible party.
Event entries are non-refundable except where the organisers expressly determine otherwise or where a refund is required by applicable law.
An inability to participate for personal reasons, including illness, injury, travel difficulties, work commitments, change of circumstances or failure to arrive at the event, does not automatically create an entitlement to a refund.
Race numbers, registrations or participation rights may not be transferred, sold, exchanged or used by another person without the prior written approval of the organisers.
Participation using another person's race number or registration details may result in immediate disqualification and may invalidate any event timing, results, insurance or other benefits associated with the registration.
I acknowledge that photographs, video footage, audio recordings and other visual or digital material may be captured during the event.
I hereby grant the organisers, sponsors and their authorised representatives permission to photograph, record and otherwise capture my participation and to reproduce, publish, display, distribute and use such material for legitimate purposes connected with the event or the promotion of the organisers and their activities, including:
I acknowledge that I will not be entitled to payment, royalties or other compensation solely as a result of the authorised use of such material.
Any collection, storage or use of personal information and identifiable media must nevertheless be undertaken in accordance with applicable law.
Where the participant is under the age of 18 years, the parent or legal guardian completing or accepting this agreement confirms that he or she has authority to consent on behalf of the minor and accepts these terms, to the extent permitted by law, on behalf of both the minor and himself or herself.
The parent or legal guardian further confirms that the minor is medically and physically capable of participating in the event and accepts responsibility for ensuring that the minor complies with all applicable event and safety rules.
By registering for or participating in the event, I confirm that:
If any provision of this agreement is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, that provision shall be severed or limited to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue to apply.
Nothing in this agreement is intended to exclude, restrict or waive any right or liability that may not lawfully be excluded, restricted or waived under applicable law.
